Paradiso buys last piece of never-developed building land in the center of Amsterdam

The piece of building land is 698 m² in size and is located between the Weteringschans and the Singelgracht, right next to Paradiso. The piece of building land also known as “Paradiso-landje” has been lying fallow since the completion of the predecessor of Paradiso in 1880.
Partly due to official concerns, it was not possible to develop the site for years. The purchase was financed with a mortgage loan from the Rabobank. Paradiso has bought the site for € 3.5 million.
Paradiso intends to develop a five-storey building that will house the office and the technical installations, among other things. The new building means an extension of the current surface of more than 1,200 square meters and therefore creates more space for the public in the main building. After the expansion, the stage must be energy neutral and soundproof. Paradiso director Geert van Itallie indicated that he is happy for this unique opportunity to be able to buy the land from Mr. Hummel who, despite great interest from the real estate industry, had a great preference to sell the piece of land to Paradiso, so that the expansion of Paradiso can be guaranteed.
Van Dijk & Ten Cate Real estate agents brought the parties together and supervised this special historical transaction.
